Using aids.
Using 3D Models (even if you made. em. yourself.)
Tracing parts of images (even real-existing ones).
Just like this one: click
I'm a firm believer of:
If you have a great idea /right now/, but lack the 10.000 hours of training to achieve it:
It
WILL be vastly superior to use means available (scourge the web for
sketches, models, instructions) then blend everything together with
your own linestrokes - leaving no pixel unchanged.
If you go that route, many changes will occur to the picture in question eitherhow.
In the end it /will/ have your own note.
If all this infuriates you, one final question: Why ?
Why
does it infuriate you, that someone is willing to make an effort to
improve/create something entirely new from existing things ?
Is it because you feel "dumb" for not going that way ? You don't need to.. Get a grip and a sense for reality:
Every color in your drawing program existed before you.
So did every sketch tip you've ever gotten or given.
Art -always- only utilizes what's already there.
Save for one thing: Your imagination.
And elitism and snobish attitudes won't change that truth. As has been concluded prior...Both concepts exist in tandem.
Even professional artists trace, even if it is their own work.
Tracing
gives you a feel for the style of an artist, just like rearranging a
musical piece can give a feeling for how a composer realizes a track.
After all if you drew it, you drew it.
And if you save time and can create more works, maybe even polish existing ones:
There is nothing better to get out of this.
In the end:

PS:
Many of my works depend on redrawn sketches etc, as I learn along the way.
Feel free to see for yourself.
As always: I don't care about ownership, credit or such thing.
I use what's available as much as you can use what I have here.
